Los Angeles:
Officials said at least two people died after two small aircraft collided at the regional airport in the US state of Arizona.
According to preliminary information from the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), a Sesna 172S and Lancair 360 MK II collided over the runway 12 on Wednesday morning.
The NTSB said in a statement on X that the aircraft that collided, were identified as the Sesna 172S and Lancare 360 MK II, both fixed-wing, single-engine aircraft.
NTSB, who is leading the investigation of the incident, said that based on preliminary information, the aircraft “collided over the runway 12”, which is one of the two runs at the airport.
According to the police department, both aircraft were small fixed-wing single-engine aircraft.
Marana Police Department is currently on the scene at the airport.
NTSB stated that Sesna “unevenly landed” while Lancare “influenced the area near Runway 3 and set fire to an impact”.
No information was given about the victims.
Washington DC leads to a deadly collision only a few weeks after a helicopter collided with an American airline passenger aircraft, killing all 64 passengers and three crew members.
The same week, a small medical transport plane crashed into several buildings in the American city of Philadelphia, killing all six people and at least another person on the ground.
On Monday, a delta air lines flight in Toronto was skid with a runway with a runway in flames and entangled in a dramatic stop. All 80 people survived the board.
On 6 February, a small aircraft carrying 10 people crashed after losing speed and height in Alaska and disappearing from radar. Cessna 208B Grand Caravan was going from Unalakleet village to Nom city, recovered. No one survived, the Alaska Department of Public Safety confirmed.
On 10 February, two private jets collided at Arizona’s Scotsdale Airport, one person was killed and four injured.
Accidents in the US were in a hurry then in Canada on Monday. A delta air lines crashed and flipped at Toronto Piercene International Airport carrying 80 people, causing about two dozen injured but no death.
On Wednesday, the Congress called Congress for emergency funding for air traffic control technology and staffing as the latest accident.
