Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials have seized 729 kg of hemp and 16.5 kg charas from various places in Tamil Nadu.
According to a senior agency official, special teams seized 273 kg of ganja in Madura, 156 ganja near Yusilamptti (Madurai district) and 300 kg of hemp in Nallour toll plaza near Chennai. Four accused persons were taken into custody.
In Madurai, two suspects, including a Maldivian National, were arrested for the possession of 16.5 kg of charas. The recovery was done in the last 10 days, the official said, saying that the operation against the control material was still going on.
