Ukrainian person sentenced Russia to 8 years in Poland for planning a sabotage – The Times of India


Warsaw: A Polish court On Friday, a Ukrainian person convicted for sabotage and arson work on behalf of Russia was sentenced to eight years in jail. The court found a 51-year-old man in the south-western city of Vrocklav, identified as Seri S, being part of a criminal ring and preparing to set fire to various structures in the city.
Polish State Security Officers arrested the man in January 2024 and he was in arrest. Poland Internal security agency It was alleged that he was working for Russia.
Officials said he was preparing to set fire to an American -owned paint factory and other items.
The man denied the allegations, but accepted an online order from an unknown person to set arson in exchange for money.
Four other people have been accused in the case and more than a dozen other Polish, Ukrainian and Belarusian citizenship have been arrested in connection with sabotage or other acts of espionage.
The Poland government says the country is being targeted by Russia as part of the Moscow’s hybrid war on western countries that support Poland’s neighbor Ukraine in the war against the Russian invasion.
