New Delhi: Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Ramgulam announced on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 57th National Day celebrations of the country as a guest of honor.
Addressing Parliament, Ramgulam said that despite his very tight program and his recent visits to Paris and the United States, it would be honored to host such a leader.
“I am very happy to inform the House that after my invitation, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed to the honored honor for our National Day celebrations,” Ramgulam said.
“This is really a unique privilege for our country, to host such a specific personality that is honoring us, despite its very tight program and recent visits to Paris and the United States. Modi’s visit has been agreed to live here as a special guest.
The country will celebrate its National Day on 12 March.
Last year, President Draupadi Murmu attended the 56th National Day celebrations of Mauritius as the chief guest.
Earlier in November, PM Modi congratulated Ramgulam for his election victory in Mauritius.
In a social media post on X, PM Modi said, “My friend had a hot conversation with @ramgoolam_dr, congratulated him for his historic election victory. I wished him a big success in the major Mauritius and to travel to India Gave a invitation to strengthen our special and unique partnership.
Mauritius Day reminds us of independence from Britain to East African country in 1968 and transition to a republic in 1992.
