Cramped between priests, devotees in Banke Bihari temple in Mathura, 3 injured


On Monday, a scuffle took place at the famous Banke Bihari temple in Mathura in which three devotees were injured. The video of this incident has gone viral on social media, where the priests of the temple were seen beating the devotees.

The injured devotees lodged a complaint against the temple officials and the Vrindavan police took a person into custody.

According to local media reports, a group of 17 devotees from Mumbai came to the temple and wanted to offer some of them offer. When devotees wanted to offer Prasad, the scuffle broke.

Some women tried to calm the situation, but they were also beaten after which anarchy came inside the temple.

After receiving information about the incident, the police reached the place and took a person into custody. The injured devotees were given medical treatment.

This is not the first time that there was a scuffle between the priests and the devotees in the devotee temple. In a similar incident in November last year, a video went viral on social media, where a large scuffle was seen between devotees and private security personnel.

Police reached the spot and handled the situation. In the video, security personnel were seen misbehaving with devotees. Under the guise of controlling the crowd, security personnel were seen beating the devotees with sticks and pushed.

A security personnel were also seen slapping a boy.
The Mathura police responded to the video posted by social media users on X, saying, “The Inspector in charge of Vrindavan Police Station was informed for investigation and necessary action,” said the video posted by social media users.
