BSP supremo Mayawati has expelled Ashok Siddharth, father -in -law of her relative and nephew Akash Anand, from the party. The former Rajya Sabha MP was removed to involve the factional and anti -party activities. Mayawati has also expelled Nitin Singh, a close associate and former MP of Ashok Siddharth, from the party.

Who is Ashok Siddharth
Ashok Siddharth, a doctor by profession, quit his government job to join BSP. After his entry into the party, he was appointed as MLC. In 2016, the BSP nominated him in the Rajya Sabha. Ashok Siddharth’s wife has also held the post of chairman of the UP Women’s Commission. It has been reported that Ashok Siddharth played an important role in strengthening the BSP behind the scenes.
