Congress President Mallikrajun Kharge on Thursday appointed Harshvardhan Sapkal as the new head of the party’s Maharashtra unit in place of Nana Patol.
The Congress chief also approved the appointment of Vijay Namdevao Wadatiwar as the leader of the Congress Vidhan Party in Maharashtra with immediate effect.
Sapkal was an MLA representing Buldana Assembly Constituency in Maharashtra from 2014 to 2019.
“The Congress President has appointed Harshvardhan Sapkal as the chairman of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect.
“The party appreciates the contribution of the outgoing President Nana Patol, a statement by the organization’s general secretary, a statement by the organization, KC Venugopal.”
