MCD councilor Anita Basoya, Sandeep Basoya, Nikhil Chaparana, Dharamvir joined the BJP on Saturday in the presence of BJP President Virendra Sachdeva in Delhi.

While Anita Basoya is the councilor of Andrews Ganj, Nikhil chapters represents Hari Nagar Extension Ward. Dharamvir Singh was elected councilor from RK Puram. Sandeep Basoya was the new Delhi District President of AAP.
Earlier, in January, two AAP councilors from West Delhi joined BJP. It came only a few weeks before the Delhi assembly elections. Two AAP councilors were Ravinder Solanki who represent Baprola ward and Narendra Girsa from Mangguri.
In September 2024, three AAP councilors Praveen Kumar, Preeti and Sarita Phogat joined the BJP. Preity is a councilor of Dilshad Colony Ward, Praveen Kumar of Madanpur Khadar Ward and Phogat from Green Park. Three AAP leaders joined Kesar Party in the presence of Delhi BJP President Virend Sachdeva and Union Minister of State Harsh Malehotra at the Delhi BJP office. It came a day earlier when a member of the Standing Committee of MCD was to be selected.
The by-election for MCD is expected to be held in April or May, as some councilors were elected to the Delhi Legislative Assembly and became a Member of Parliament, making their MCD seats vacant.
According to the description, those who are going for the elections of wards include Mundka, Sangam Vihar, Chandni Mahal, Ashok Vihar, Chandni Chowk.
In the recently concluded Delhi elections, BJP won 48 seats in the 70 -member assembly, while AAP was reduced to 22 seats. The Congress was unable to open its account.
