Shimla, 15 February (PTI): The budget session of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly is expected to be held from March 10 to March 28 and the annual budget will be presented on 17 March.
Industry Minister Harshwordan Chauhan told the media persons here that in its meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukh, the state cabinet on Saturday decided to recommend the Governor to call a budget session.
A total of 15 sessions will be held and the Chief Minister will present the annual budget on 17 March, Chauhan said.
The cabinet also approved the declaration of pending results for 713 posts in seven categories, including junior engineers, market supervisors, firemen, clerks (Himachal Secretariat), Lineman and Steno-Typist.
After the alleged paper leak on December 23, 2022, the results of various examinations were stopped after indicating irregularities in examinations conducted by HPSSC, when vigilance with the question papers resolved to the commission’s senior assistant Uma Azad with question papers and in cash 2.5 lakh rupees arrested.
A statement here said that the cabinet approved 60-day special maternity leave for government employees even immediately after birth.
The cabinet decided to classify all 135 existing police stations into six categories based on population, area, major crime, traffic, inter-state boundaries and the norms of the flow of tourists. It was also decided that staff posting in police stations would be revised on the basis of their category to strengthen field offices and ensure better services for people.
It also indicated the auction-cum-wide process to collect taxes for the financial year 2025-26, which had an additional revenue of Rs 11.56 crore as compared to 2024-2025.
Additionally, the cabinet decided to implement Fastag feature on all entry toll barriers in a phased manner. In the first phase, Fastag will be introduced in toll obstacles in Garamura (Bilaspur), Parvanu (Main) and Tiara bypass (Solan), Govindghat (Sirmaur), Kandwal (Nurpur), Mehtpur (UNA), and Badi (Solan).
