The British Council will open the UK-India Young Professional Scheme (YPS) 2025 ballot on Tuesday. The special visa plan offers British and Indians a unique opportunity to live, study, travel and work in another country for two years.
The UK-India Young Professional Scheme was launched in February 2023. That year, according to a release, more than 2,100 YPS visas were issued to Indian citizens.
Indians between the ages of 18 to 30 years can be entered into voting on the village for one of the 3,000 spots available under the scheme. The ballot will be closed on 20 February. According to a release of the council, there is no fee to enter the ballot, and successful entries will be chosen randomly.
Any person in the age group of 18–30 with UK Bachelor’s degree shows evidence of £ 2,530 in savings to support himself in the United Kingdom. “The scheme is an excellent program to help our countries better understanding among the youth,” said British Deputy Commissioner Halima Holland in Chennai.
She said she would love more young Indians of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry “travel, study or work aspiring in Britain, or English learners to experience a modern, inclusive and open Britain.”
Candidates selected from the ballot will be informed through email within two weeks of closing the ballot and will be invited to apply for the visa.
They can apply for a visa with 90 days through the online application form, provide their biometrics and pay the related fee, including visa application fee and immigration health overload.
Applicants should return to India after completing two years in Britain under the scheme.
