Shimla: Alone exile Himachal PradeshRohit, on Tuesday, arrived at his Milwan village in Indora sub-division in Kangra district. Rohit was one of the third batch of exile sent by the US to Amritsar in Punjab on Sunday.
After he landed Amritsar airport Officials said, along with other exiles, Kangra officials took him to his village.
Rohit’s family took a loan to send him to America for a better future, but when he was deported with other illegal Indian migrants, his hopes collapsed. Asha Rani, her inconsistent mother, was repeatedly saying, “How will we repay the loan.”
Extremely upset and distressed, Rohit met his mother but he did not tell his story a crisis. His father has passed away some time ago.
Rohit’s mother is working as a mid-day meal in a government school. His brother Naresh is also in a foreign country, while his sister is married.
Rohit’s family spent about 45 lakh rupees to send him to America. He went to America through an agent from Amritsar and became a victim of fraudsters, his sister told reporters.
Rohit went to America a year ago. He said that the agent kept him in Amritsar for a week and later sent him to Dubai, where he stayed for about eight months and reached Mexico after passing through three-four countries, he said.
The agent transferred Rs 34 lakh to his account and later asked for 4 lakh rupees twice on this pretext that the money would have to be paid to the ‘guarantor’.
On reaching Mexico, the agent demanded more money, saying that there was a mindless-up and a lawyer has to engage for Rohit and then stopped picking up the phone, the sister said.
