Planet Gupta was elected on Wednesday New Chief Minister of Delhi During the meeting of the BJP Legislature Party on Wednesday, he was elected as the leader of the House in the Delhi Assembly.
50 -year -old Gupta, Madan Lal Khurana, Sahib Singh Verma and Sushma Swaraj will be the fourth Chief Minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who led Delhi, following the footsteps of Swaraj.
Senior BJP leaders of the Bania community will also be the only woman to serve as Chief Minister in any BJP -ruled state, who will become the fourth woman to hold her post in Delhi.

Apart from the appointment of Gupta, six ministers have also been selected to join the new cabinet. While his exact designations are yet to be announced, the names of six ministers are:
Parvesh Verma
Parvesh Verma, a prominent Jat leader, has been associated with the BJP for almost three decades. He is the son of former Delhi Chief Minister and Senior BJP Vice President Sahib Singh Verma. In the recent assembly elections, Verma defeated AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi constituency.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa
Sikh leader, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, joined the BJP in 2021 after serving as a prominent person in the Shiromani Akali Dal. Sirsa represents Rajouri Garden as an MLA. He became an important person during the protest of the farmers, arranging the langars for the protesters who regularly camp on the streets of Delhi against farm laws.
Kapil Mishra
Kapil Mishra joined BJP in 2019. He became a controversial person after his speech in February 2020, who was convicted for triggering communal violence during a conflict between supporters and opponents of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA). In this election, he won from Karawal Nagar Legislative Assembly constituency.
Ravinder Indraj Singh
A Dalit leader, Ravinder Indraj Singh, won the recently held Delhi Assembly elections in Bawana constituency, defeated Jai Bhagwan Cost of AAP.
Ashish Sood
Punjabi leader and Janakpuri MLA Ashish Sood defeated Parveen Kumar of AAP. In the past, Sood has served in various important positions within the party, including serving as a councilor, the leader of the House in the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), and recently in charge and co -co -co -in -charge of BJP in Goa -Prabhari is involved for Jammu. And Kashmir.
Pankaj Singh
Pankaj Kumar Singh, a priest leader, defeated Mahinder Yadav of AAP and won in Vikaspuri (South-West) constituency. He is a qualified dentist and is actively involved in social services.
Gupta, along with new cabinet ministers, will be sworn in as the next Chief Minister of Delhi on 20 February (Thursday) at the prestigious Ramlila Maidan in the national capital.
