Chandigarh, 20 February (PTI) Congress will choose at least 60-70 new faces for the 2027 assembly elections in Punjab, Amarinder Singh Raja Waring, head of the party’s state unit, said on Thursday.
Addressing a gathering of Panjab Youth Congress, who held its state executive meeting, Waring said, “Punjab Congress 2027 bring at least 60-70 new faces to represent the state as MLA candidates in the 2027 assembly elections. It will be determined. Dynamic, committed, and correspond to the needs of the state.
“These new faces will not only symbolize change, but will also give embodiment of the beliefs and hopes of the youth and the common people of Punjab.” He urged the members of the Youth Congress to seize the opportunity with unwavering commitment, emphasized that his efforts would play an important role in laying the foundation for a strong, more inclusive and united Punjab in the future.
A Congress statement said, “This is a chance for you to prove yourself and show the people of Punjab that we are committed to real and meaningful changes.”
Emphasizing the importance of collective efforts within the organization, the state Congress chief said, “Your journey as young leaders begins with dedication to your actions and dedication to discipline. The collective for the development of the party and the betterment of Punjab Work in the form.
“We have only two years left before the next elections, and it’s time to prove your subtlety by addressing people’s concerns and standing for their rights.” He assured the gathering that the Congress is committed to the young leaders to develop the political field and promote opportunities to gain excellence.
Indian Youth Congress (IYC) President Uday Bhanu Chib called the Youth Congress volunteers of Punjab to prepare for the 2027 elections and exclude the current rule of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Chib called the Youth Congress the backbone of the party as it moves beyond the front in every political battle.
He said that the Congress gained its strength by winning seven seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Punjab.
Chib also claimed that it is clear that the people of Punjab are waiting for the opportunity to hand over the command of the state to the Congress.
