Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
The objective of the BJP’s Ayushman Bharat program is to provide comprehensive healthcare, which includes preventive, therapeutic and subscriber aspects. It is obtained through health and well -being (HWCs) at the ground level and financial assistance for high levels, including both public and private healthcare providers.
What is the two-dimensional approach of Ayushman India?
The two-dimensional approaches of Ayushman India include installing 150,000 HWCs for free essential medicines and diagnosis as well as accessible primary care including maternal, child and non-communicable disease services. The Prime Minister inaugurated the first HWC in Jungla, Bijapur, Chhattisgarh on 14 April 2018.
The second component, the Prime Minister John Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), provides financial security to the disadvantaged families for secondary and tertiary care. HWCs play an important role in the subsequent hospitals raising awareness about PMJAY, screening for non-communicable diseases and monitoring patients.
Ayushman Bharat Prime Minister John Arogya Yojana (AB PM-Jai) for senior citizens (AB PM-Jai)
In an important step to increase healthcare access, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mancha Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-Jai) expanded its coverage. Now, all senior citizens aged 70 and above are eligible, regardless of income. This initiative intends to cover around 4.5 crore families, which benefit about 6 crore senior citizens with health insurance of Rs 5 lakh per family. This underlines the government’s commitment to the inexpensive and inclusive healthcare for the weaker population.
