The love of Vijayawada residents for Biriyani has assumed his fear on the outbreak of bird flu. Compared to other chicken main courses and cuisine, according to the convenor of Vijayawada Hotels Association PV Ramana, the decline in demand of chicken biryani is not important.
His restaurant ‘RR Durbar’ is seeing a decline of 60-70% in demand for chicken cuisine, in which many consumers are going for seafood and mutton, both are very expensive to be beneficial for restaurants. Mutton prices are passing through the roof, with one kg of ₹ 1,000.
“Chicken items are most beneficial for any restaurant. We do not see much footfall in February. The mood of the festival which envelopes on December and January is closed as the exam time in February. Bird Flu gave a final blow to all restaurants, ”said Mr. Ramna.

Other major restaurants such as Sweet Magic and Khasim Bhai Royal Biryani House, have also seen a decline in chicken items from last Wednesday, with a decline of 80% later. Chicken prices have fallen to KG 150 per kg in the city, but it does not seem much use for the restaurant because there is no demand. “We hope that the situation will improve at the end of this week, thanks to various measures being taken by the government,” Mr. Ramna said.
The government is organizing ‘Chicken Melus’ across the state to encourage the consumption of chicken and remove the apprehensions from the minds of the people. The fair is expected to be held in Vijayawada on 25 February.

It can be noted that the authorities have repeated repeatedly that if they are properly cooked or boiled, there is no harm in consuming chicken or eggs.
