Mohan Singh Bisht, BJP leader, who won Muslim-prone Mustafabad, according to ABP sources, is likely to be the New Delhi Assembly Speaker. Bisht won the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 by a voter margin of 17,578 votes from Mustafabad seat. Mustafabad had the highest number of voters voting at 69.01% in the elections held on 5 February.
The BJP leader has proposed to convert the name of the Northeast Delhi constituency into “Shiv Vihar” or “Shiv Puri”. He claimed his proposal, claiming that the Hindu population was high in the Constitution.
The 67 -year -old is the leading leader in the new assembly. For the sixth time, he was elected as an MLA, Bisht was transferred from Karawal Nagar seat which he won in the 2020 election.
Some party leaders feel that Bisht is a possible candidate for the post of Chief Minister. When asked to comment on speculation, he said, “The party gave me a chance to contest seven times and I won six of them. I am a regular party worker and whatever party chooses to the ‘Lotus’ symbol Will take. “
After more than 26 years, the BJP came to power in Delhi, winning 48 out of 70 assembly seats. AAP won 22 seats, while the Congress secured a vacant place in the elections held on 5 February.
