Copenhagen:
In view of the dangers of US President Donald Trump to control Greenland, some Dane California are dreaming, buying a golden state and offering it to infect it with a nordic vibe and universal health care.
A satirical website has introduced a petition for Denmark to buy the most populous state of America, with more than 200,000 people signing views so far.
Greenland is an autonomous region within the state of Denmark.
Making fun of Trump’s favorite slogan, the tongue-in-chal petition urges Denmark to “California Great Again”, which re-writes the phrase with Danish letters.
“Let’s buy California from Donald Trump!” In a node for “California”, a word The Red Hot Chile Papers band became immortal with his 1990 hit song, “says the site denmarkification.com.
“Let’s be honest – Trump is not the biggest fan of California at all. He is called the ‘most ruined state in the Sangh’ and has quarreled with his leaders over the years.”
“We are sure that he will be ready to participate with it for the right price,” it says.
“We will send our best negotiaters-lego officials and Borgane’s artists,” said this, referring to the Denmark-based global toys and danish-made drama series respectively.
“We will bring Hollywood, bike lane to bearly hills, and organic smoorrhea to the corner of every road. The law of law may apply, universal health care and fact -based politics.”
“Hygge” has a word in Danish that describes a comfortable environment while “Smorebrood” is a multi-clock sandwich omnipresent in the Nordic country and its neighbors.
Why do Scandinavian countries want American states? For its sunshine climate, technical industry and money from avocados, the site says.
And of course Disneyland, which proposes to change the name of “Hans Christian Andersonland” in the context of Denmark’s famous fairy tale author.
“Mickey Mouse in Viking Helmet? Yes, please.”
Would you like to bring down the US state, it is not a matter of great concern.
“Let’s face it – when he ever stopped him? If Trump wants to sell California, he will sell California.”
On Wednesday, at 11:45 am (0945 GMT), about 207,000 people signed the petition, aimed at gathering 500,000 signature.
From the end of December, Trump has repeated his desire to handle Greenland, rich in natural resources.
Greenland leaders supported by the Danish government have insisted that it is not for sale.
Local Greenland elections are scheduled for March 11. Amid concerns over potential election intervention, the Greenlandic Parliament last week adopted a law banning anonymous or foreign donation to political parties.
