Union minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan On Saturday, he criticized Air India for his poor service after experiencing an uncomfortable journey on a broken seat during a flight from Bhopal to Delhi.
Taking it to the social media platform X, Chauhan shared his prediction, in which the airline management on passenger safety and comfort was questioned.
In his post, Chauhan said that he was traveling on Air India Flight AI436 and was handed over the seat 8C. On sitting, he realized that the seat was broken and drowned inside, causing it to become extremely uncomfortable.
“When I asked the airline staff why such a faulty seat was allotted, he told me that the management was already informed that this seat was disqualified and should not have been sold,” he wrote.
The minister further mentioned that this issue was not limited to his seat only. “There are many such seats on the aircraft,” he said.
Despite offering fellow passengers to swap the seats, Chauhan said, “Why should I be inconvenienced for another passenger? I decided to complete my journey on the same seat.”
Expressing disappointment, Chauhan wrote that he had accepted that Air India’s services had improved under the management of the Tata Group, but their experience was proved otherwise. He called it “immoral” for the airline, while providing faulty seats to charge full fare, questioning whether it is the amount of “cheating passengers”.
He urged Air India to take corrective action to prevent such issues for future passengers. “Will the management take steps to ensure that no other passenger faces this inconvenience, or will it take advantage of people’s request to reach their destinations?” He asked.
After his post, Air India replied, apologizing for inconvenience. “Dear sir, we apologize for inconvenience. Please be sure that we are looking carefully at this matter to stop any such incident in future. We will appreciate the opportunity to speak with you, please please connect us Give a convenient time to, “the airline wrote in its answer.
The Tata Group officially took Air India from the Government of India on 27 January 2022 after about 69 years of nationalizing in 1953.
The purpose of the takeover is to revive the operation of the airline, improve the quality of the service and modernize your fleet to restore your position as a world class carrier.
Since the acquisition, the Tata Group has introduced several reforms, including merging Vistara with Air India, rebuating customer service, upgrading the inner part of the aircraft, and giving historical orders for new aircraft.
However, operational disability, aging aircraft and challenges like Complaints of customer service Continue to affect the reputation of the airline as it passes through changes.
