The White House said in a fact sheet on Tuesday that China was now subject to 245% tariff on imports in the United States, Beijing responded on Wednesday, asked Washington to “stop threatening and blackmailing”.
Between the growing trade war between the US and China, Beijing tried to see several steps from US President Donald Trump, before the two nation could start trade talks, Bloomberg’s report. The report claimed that China hopes to show more respect for the US Beijing, as the Trump administration wants “to dismiss the comments by its cabinet members”.
What are China’s conditions for negotiation?
The other notable conditions that China has revealed includes “more consistent American status” with American restrictions and “China addresses” about Taiwan.
The report states that China also expects a person to have a person for talks that can prepare a deal to be signed between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart.
White House Issue Fact Sheet, implements tariffs on China
In addition, the White House released a fact sheet on Tuesday stating that President Trump signed an executive order, which began investigating the national security risks arising out of the US dependence on imported important minerals and their derived products.
“China now faces 245% tariff on imports to the United States as a result of its refusal functions,” the fact sheet said, without giving details.
China reacts to Trump’s latest tariff
The latest American tariff attracted a reaction from China as the Chinese Foreign Ministry (MFA) on Wednesday asked Washington to “threaten and stop blackmailing”.
MFA spokesman Lynn Gian accused the US of launching a trade war, stating that “China took necessary protests to protect our right interests and international fairness and justice.” Beijing asked Washington to leave using maximum pressure if he wants a conversation solution.
In a post on X, an MFA spokesman said, “The US launched the tariff war. China took necessary counterparts to protect our right interests and international impartiality and justice.”
The spokesman said, “If the US really wants a solution to a conversation, it should use maximum pressure, stop threatening and blackmail to China and look for dialogue based on equality, respect and mutual gains.”
Trump excavates in China
In a post on Truth Social, President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that China “bus said on the Big Boeing deal, saying that he would not occupy a fully committed aircraft.”
Trump, through his post, was confirming the reports that China has asked its airlines not to take delivery of aircraft from American aircraft manufacturer Boeing.
In a post, he vowed to protect the US and its farmers in a business war with his opponents, such as China.
