On Thursday, a dramatic incident occurred in Thalasseri, Kannur when more than 50 CPI (M) activists allegedly closed police officers and released an accused person from custody. A CPI (M) worker, accused, wanted to attack four police personnel during a temple festival last day. A case has been registered against the CPI (M) workers for obstructing law enforcement and assisting the accused to escape.
According to the Bagsari police, according to a report on PTI, there was an initial change during a temple festival between clashes between BJP and CPI (M) activists. Police officials on duty intervened to control the situation, but were reportedly attacked by CPI (M) workers, who also disrupted them in performing their duties. Twenty -seven CPI (M) workers were nominated as accused in the attack case.
On Thursday afternoon, when police officials tried to arrest one of the accused CPI (M) activists, they were faced by a large group of party workers. The authorities were reportedly locked inside a room, and the accused was forcibly freed from custody.
