New Delhi: Delhi CMO The social media platform X was sent an email on Friday, requesting the restoration of its official handle “CMO Delhi”, which was reportedly converted into “@kejriwalatwork”. This action followed the BJP’s appeal for Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena about changing the name of the handle.
The CMO’s communication to the X said that its verified account with gray tick with about 9,90,000 followers was converted into “@kejriwalatwork”. “According to the installed practice, the official accounts are not associated with the individuals and go to the heirs and when the change happens … it is requested to the ‘X’ platform that” the CMO said that the official email id said CMDELHI @nic.in, which is the official ID of the Chief Minister, Delhi, “said the CMO.
It comes after Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Thursday urged LG to investigate the role of the IT department in changing the name of the handle. Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of becoming a “digital looter” after the AAP government’s defeat in the Delhi elections and criticized him for re -introducing the publicly funded official handle for personal use.
The entangled account in the dispute, was later removed and then @cmodelhi handle is now being used to run a parody account.
