Delhi goes to elections for the 2025 assembly elections on Wednesday, in which a platform is established for a fierce competition between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress.
A total of 699 candidates are dying for 70 assembly seats, with votes to be counted on 8 February. This is the first election when AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal resigned as the Chief Minister of Delhi, which was after arrest in allegations of corruption last year.
While AAP wants another word, the BJP is firm to end the streak of its defeat in Delhi, which is of 1998.

New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal vs Parvesh Verma vs Sandeep Dixit
A reputation looks like a fight, Arvind Kejriwal is looking at the fourth consecutive victory in his stronghold in New Delhi. The AAP chief, who has represented the constituency since 2013, has to face a tough competition from BJP’s Parvesh Singh Verma and Congress’s Sandeep Dixit – sons of both former Chief Ministers. In 2020, Kejriwal won the seat with 21,687 votes.
Jungpura: Manish Sisodia vs Sardar Tarwinder Singh Marwah vs Farhad Suri
Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia starts his election from Jangpura, which was first won by Praveen Kumar of AAP in both 2015 and 2020. He is in a high-handing competition against BJP’s Sardar Tarwinder Singh Marwah and Congress’s Farhad Suri.
Kalkji: Atisi vs Alka Lamba vs Ramesh Bidhuri
Kalkji constituency has been prescribed as AAP leader for a fierce three-way competition and CM Atisi Firebrand leader Alka Lamba and former BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri. In 2020, Atishi won a seat against BJP’s Dharmbir Singh with 11,393-votes margin.
Chhatarpur: Brahma Singh Tanwar vs Karat Singh Tanwar vs Rajendra Singh Tanwar
The election of Chhatarpur has turned into a ‘battle of tanvars’. Brahma Singh Tanwar of AAP is contesting against Karr Singh Tanwar of BJP and Rajendra Singh Tanwar of Congress. Karat Singh Tanwar, who won the seat on the AAP ticket in 2020, switched to the BJP last year and is now running as his candidate.
Malavia Nagar: Somnath Bharti vs Satish Upadhyay vs Jitendra Kumar Kochhar
Malavia Nagar remains an important battleground, in which AAP veteran Somnath Bharti has demanded to expand the dominance of its three-function. He faces BJP’s Satish Upadhyay and Congress’s Jitendra Kumar Kochhar, who promises to be a closely seen competition.
