Delhi new Chief Minister live update: The scene outside the Ramlila Maidan showed a street and land, as the national capital is ready to watch the swearing -in ceremony of MLA Rekha Gupta for the first time, who will take oath as the new Chief Minister of Delhi.
Gupta’s name as CM was declared on Wednesday evening, after capping 11 days of suspense that Arvind Kejriwal -led AAP -led 10 years after the 10 -year rule of the BJP after over 26 years after the BJP’s 10 -year rule. The top position will be received after coming to power.
Rekha Gupta won the recently held Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 from Shalimar Bagh after defeating AAP candidate Bandana Kumar by more than 29,000 votes. She will take an oath of office in a grand ceremony which will begin around 11 am.
Rekha Gupta will be the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi after Sushma Swaraj (BJP), Sheela Dixit (Congress) and Atisi (AAP).
Around 50,000 people, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his cabinet colleagues and Chief Ministers of NDA -ruled states, expect the oath -taking ceremony.
