With the Delhi Assembly elections, a day away, the Chamber of Trades and Industries (CTI) has announced that salons and beauty parlors across the city will offer a discount of 20 to 50 percent, who cast their votes.
Apart from the salon, various businesses, including shops, restaurants, hotels, malls, coffee shops and Dhabas, will also provide discounts between 10 percent and 50 percent to the voting customers.
In a statement on Tuesday, CTI said that about 500 salons and beauty parlors will provide these exemptions on 6 February after voting. “The purpose of the initiative is to promote voter voting in Delhi, where elections for 70 assembly seats are scheduled for February 5,” said this.
CTI President Brijesh Goyal emphasized that this effort is to ensure high voting percentage. Goyal said, “This initiative will encourage more people to cast their votes on 5 February and the voting percentage will increase.”
He said that more than 500 salon owners and makeup artists associated with CTI have joined the initiative.
“Voters who take advantage of beauty services such as facials, shave, haircut, massage and de-tan treatment on February 6 will get an additional 20 to 50 percent discount. This proposal is open to both men and women who show voting. He is ink on his finger as a proof of casting his vote.
