After seven years of sailing worldwide, laboratory vessel Energy supervisor On June 2, 2025 for a major global event, the anchor in NICE will leave: Third United Nations Ocean Conference (Unoc). Co-maintained by France and Costa Rica, this conference will bring together the heads of the state, scientists, NGOs and businesses around a general goal: to ensure permanent protection of the sea, an important pillar of our collective future.
A symbol of ecological infection, the energy supervisor is the world’s first hydrogen-powered vessel which is completely energy self-sufficient, mixing renewable energy sources with state-of-the-art storage technologies. Since 2017, it has been sailing seas to test permanent solutions and increase public awareness about climate and maritime issues. Its presence in the UNOC 2025 sends a strong message: technological innovations – and – should serve the protection of marine ecosystems.
In Nice, the energy supervisor would be more than the only supervisor. The vessel will actively participate in the discussion and host the academic sessions, scientific performances and public engagement opportunities. It will be a moment to remind the world that the ocean – covering more than 70% of the Earth’s surface – plays an important role in regulating the climate, producing oxygen and maintaining biodiversity.
As the United Nations warns a rapid decline of the maritime environment, the arrival of the energy supervisor in the Gulf of Angels represents a symbolic association of innovation and ecological commitment. More than only a boat, it is an ambassador of an permanent future, which gives the hope of a flexible, clean and united marine infection.
After more than seven years of global exploration, the Energy Observer will create a stopover in NICE on June 2, 2025 as part of the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC). This major international program, co-agated by France and Costa Rica, aims to strengthen the global ocean rule by bringing together leaders, scientists, NGOs, businesses and citizens engaged citizens.
More than a participant, the Energy Supervisor intends to play a central role at the conference: a living performance of an ongoing energy and marine infection. As the world’s first ship to produce its own hydrogen on the board from renewable sources, it provides a tangible, replication reaction to climate and marine challenges. Making a place for dialogue, education and inspiration, its journey of NICE reflects a strong commitment to keep technology in the service of the planet.
During the UNOC, the Energy Supervisor will host the workshops, scientific meetings, educational tourism and the decision on the board. Its mission: To show that the solution already exists for a more responsible blue economy and an integrated approach to ocean protection.
Since marine ecosystems continue to deteriorate under human pressure, the energy supervisor himself located as a catalyst for action – a bridge between science, technology and civilian engagement.
