Finance Minister KNA Balagopal on Wednesday made late artist A. Reviewed the progress of the art gallery being built in the Shri Narayan Guru Cultural Complex to showcase the paintings and idols of Ramachandran. The 6,000 -square -foot art gallery Ramachandran will have a painting with a market price of about ₹ 300 crore. The main gallery will have an art marketing center and a user experience gallery.
About 50 paintings, sculptures, small arts and studios replicas will be part of the art gallery. The rare picture measuring 12-feet high and six-feet wide will be part of the exhibition. The minister said that the Art Gallery will inspire a new initiative in tourism and cultural sector at Kollam.
He interacted with NASA’s senior scientist and Ramachandran’s son, Rahul Ramachandran and also discussed with representatives of the Kerala Museum, who is handling construction, and Lalita Kala Academy, who is monitoring the project. Lalita Kala Academy President Murali Cheeroth, Curator R. Shivkumar, Kerala State Chalchitra Academy Secretary C. Ajoy, Deputy Director of Culture Sini K. Thomas and others were present.
