Government. CM says that determined to save public schools from closing

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has confirmed the government’s commitment to protect public schools, saying that no person was closed due to being oriented.

He was inaugurating a multi-storey building at the Peralasari AKG Memorial Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) on Sunday (16 February). The building was constructed at a cost of ₹ 20 crores.

Recalling the status of public education before 2016, the Chief Minister said that neglect had recorded a sharp decline, with five lakh students. 4,000 was designed to shut down a list of “oriented” schools, which increased widespread concern. However, after the LDF government assumed power in 2016, the Public Education Protection Mission was launched, in which students, teachers, alumni, parents and local self-governmental institutions were brought together. The state government invested ₹ 5,000 crore in school development with additional support from local communities.

Mr. Vijayan said that Kerala’s efforts in the public education sector had earned a continuous recognition from the Center’s Niti disarmament.

An alumni of Paralasari HSS, Mr. Vijayan, stressed the importance of free education, saying that without the intervention of the government, many children from economically weaker sections would be deprived of school education. He warned that more dependence on private institutions can lead to ineffective fees, which can limit access to education for the underprivileged.

He also informed that public schools in the state also completed the children of migrant workers, ensuring that no child was left out of the education system. He said that the government was actively identifying and enrollment of such children, strengthening the commitment to Kerala’s inclusive education. The Chief Minister also warned against spreading wrong information about the educational progress of the state.

Public Education and Employment Minister V. Shivkutty presided over the event. The new school building has 41 classrooms, 12 smart classrooms, a computer lab, an auditorium and a lift.
