Hundred: GMR group retains the southern brave. News News – The Times of India

The GMR group made history by acquiring Hampshire cricket in September last year, marking the first example of an international company owned by a county cricket team. As the first report was reported by TOI on 18 September, the group owned by Kiran Kumar Grandi initially won a 49% stake in the Hampshire Cricket County.
GMR entered an agreement to acquire 100% of the Hampshire Sport and Leisure Holdings Limited (HSLHL), Hampshire Cricket’s original company, which set the acquisition for completion of stages in the next 24 months.
The group has a strong presence in global cricket after purchasing the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capital) IPL franchise in 2008. Currently, GMR has a 50% stake in Delhi capitals (IPL and WPL), as well as ownership of Dubai capitals (LT20) and Pretoria Capital (SA20).
Beyond cricket, GMR’s sports portfolio Pro Kabaddi League and Ultimate are spread to the franchise in Kho Kho League. The group has also invested in the Seattle orcas team at Major League Cricket (MLC), USA, strengthening its footprint in international sports.
