Cricket West Indies (CWI) has confirmed the 15-member squad for the upcoming two-Test series against India, which is scheduled with matches in Ahmedabad and Delhi from 2 to 14 October. The series will be part of India’s first Test tour of the ICC World Test Championship Bicycle and Marx West Indies since the series 2018.

The selection panel has made three changes in the squad Recently faced Australia. Both left-handed opener Tagnerine Chanderpall and Middle-Order Batter Alik Ethanaz recalled both to strengthen the batting unit, while the left-arrow spinner Khadi Pierre has been rewarded with a young test call-up.

Pierre’s inclusion falls behind a stellar season at the West Indies Championship, where he topped the wicket chart with 41 dismissal at an average of 13.56. He will serve as another expert spinner in the squad with Jomel Warrican.

Meanwhile, spinner Goodkesh Moti has been rested from the red-ball squad. According to the CWI, it was decided to manage its charge with a busy white ball calendar, including the ICC men’s T20 World Cup, prescribed for February-March 2026.

Head coach Daren Sammy said that selections were made keeping in mind the Indian conditions.

“Playing in the subcontinent always presents a challenge and we have selected a team to be competitive in these situations,” Sammy said in a CWI’s release.

“This will be our second series together as a test team, but we have already shown that once we are committed to our brands and plans we are capable as a unit.”

Sammy said that the return of Chandpall and Athanaz would give a very important boost to the batting order.

He said, “The return of Tagnarin Chandpall is to help change our luck at the top of the recent order, which is being added to his strength and qualities against spin bowling. Khari has been included for the first time as what we expect in useful circumstances in our second spinner,” he said.

The squad led by Roston Chase will leave Caribbean on 22 September and reach Ahmedabad to start preparations on 24 September.

West Indies Squad: Roston Chase (C), Joler Warrican, Kelon Anderson, Alik Athanaz, John Campbell, Tagnarin Chanderpall, Justin Greaves, Shai Hope, Tevin Imlach, Alzari Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Anderson Philipp, Kerry Pierre, Jayden Seal.
