Speaking on Star Sports after India’s four -wicket win over the second ODI, Peterson highlighted a technical adjustment in Gill’s batting, making them more effective against fast bowlers.
“I talked about a trigger when you get into Big Boys Cricket and you face fast bowlers. You need a setup, and this is something that he starts taking when he batting Has been. I think he has improved the way he plays, “Pieterson commented.
The former England captain also indicated Gill’s growing ability to handle various lengths, making life difficult for the opposition bowlers.
“Is he the ability to play the pickup shot to bowl to him even more to scare him, which is a little punch from the back leg. A bowler can no longer reduce the shortage of length against him. So the top would have to attack.
Peterson emphasized that Gill would not be satisfied with only half -centuries, despite his recent score.
He said, “He wants to improve, he wants to get 60 and wants to get out. He wants to get 100 like Rohit,” he said.
With an ODI remaining in the series, Gill will see to capitalize on his form and push for a big score.
