Police said on Wednesday that a golden-meditative female power-lifter died at the Junior National Games when a 270 kg stick fell on her neck during practice in Bikner district of Rajasthan.
Women’s power-lifter Yashtika Acharya (17) died while practicing in the gym. The gold medalist player’s neck broke when a 270 kg stick fell on him on Tuesday, Naya Shah show Vikram Tiwari said.
He said that soon after the accident, he was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Tiwari said that the accident occurred when the trainer was waiting for the lift in the gym. The instructor also suffered minor injuries in the tragedy.
SHO said that the family has not registered a case in this regard. After the post -mortem, the body was handed over to the family on Wednesday.
