A 19 -year -old youth on Wednesday injured three passengers in a knife attack on a local train in Maharashtra. The accused was identified as Sheikh Zia Hussain, a resident of Mambra, who was arrested by the police. Dombivali Railway Police has also registered a case in connection with the case.
The incident took place on Wednesday at around 9:45 am in a local train on the way from Kalyan to Mumbai, today India told. According to officials, three injured passengers were given medical treatment and later discharged.
The accused was riding in the train and felt that the train would not stop at Mumbra station. He tried to enter Dombivali but failed. Disappointed, he got into a debate with other passengers.
In a fit of anger, Hussain took out a sharp knife from his pocket and attacked his fellow travelers. Three people facing injuries were identified as Akshay Wagh (25), Hemant Kankeria (45) and Rajesh Changlani (39).

After the attack, another passenger gave Hussain Hassain and handed him over to the railway police at Thane station. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused, an officer of Dombivali Railway Police told India Today TV, being added to further investigation in this case.
Earlier this month, a 26 -year -old man was killed when a group of people attacked a dispute about an seat in an express train at Nandurbar railway station in Maharashtra.
A person was arrested, while a minor was detained for the attack who injured another person in the Chennai-Jodhpur Express according to an official.
Sumer Singh and Parbat Parihar (40) boarded the train from Chennai and traveling to their hometown in Jodhpur, said.
The official said the pair came into an argument with a passenger when the train arrived at Bhusaval station on a seat, and the latter called some of his friends to Nandburbar station.
He said that the passenger’s friends attacked the pair with sharp weapons, injured them.
