Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that a large -scale copy has been done for class 10 and 12 board examinations.
According to Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), two cases of copying the first day of HSC exam for class 12 were reported on Tuesday.
Mr. Fadnavis on Tuesday asked the officials to monitor the sensitive examination centers through drones and video cameras. He directed to dismiss the school staff or teachers if they were involved in the facility of copying.
The decision was taken in the state cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
Mr. Fadnavis also interacted with all the district collectors and police officers and took stock of the preparation for the examination.
The Chief Minister said that the district collectors should build special squads which should reach the examination centers one hour before the examination starts and wait until the north sheets are presented to the Custodian.
This is the joint responsibility of the District Collector, Superintendent of Police and Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad who is to prevent cheating in the examination. Similarly, in urban areas, it will be the responsibility of the Municipal Commissioner and the Commissioner of Police, he said.
Mr. Fadnavis directed the District Magistrates, Superintendent of Police and Chief Executive Officers of District Councils to visit sensitive examination centers in those days when English, Mathematics and Science documents are prescribed.
The class 12 board examination started at 3,373 centers in the state. The exam will continue till 18 March.
Mr. Fadnavis said that no unauthorized person should be allowed in 100 meters from the examination center.
He said that students should be taken steps to ensure that they cannot take any material that can copy in the examination, they said.
The Chief Minister said that the flying squad is expected to take effective steps to ensure a copy-free examination.
The State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education said, “There were 42 cases of copying the first day of the HSC exam.” More than 1.5 million students appeared in more than 3,000 examination centers in more than 3,000 examination centers in the state.
Of the 42 cases of copy (misconduct), 26 was reported from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, eight in Pune, three in Nashik, two in Amravati and Nagpur and one in Latur.
Mumbai, Konkan and Kolhapur registered zero cases of misconduct.
Meanwhile, a student appearing for the examination at a center in the Narhe region of Pune tried to jump from the second floor. Officials said they suffered minor injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
