India on Thursday voiced anguish over destruction of the historic residence of Bangladesh founder Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and mentioned the “act of vandalism’ needs to be strongly condemned.
Rahman’s residence in Dhaka was destroyed by some so known as protesters on Wednesday.
“It’s regrettable that the historic residence of Sheikh Mujibur Rehman, a logo of the heroic resistance of the folks of Bangladesh towards the forces of occupation and oppression, was destroyed on February 5,” exterior affairs ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal mentioned.
“All those that worth the liberty battle that nurtured Bangla identification and delight are conscious of the significance of this residence for the nationwide consciousness of Bangladesh,” he mentioned.
Jaiswal was responding to media queries on the incident.
“This act of vandalism needs to be strongly condemned,” he mentioned.
