Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the PM on his arrival in Prayagraj. The administration said that despite Modi’s visit, devotees continued their bathing ritual at the confluence. However, the city was on high alert due to security reasons.

Before stepping into the water, PM Modi performed a detailed worship ceremony. He first touched water with reverence, prayed to the Sun God, and performed Tarpan (Acented Prasad).
Wearing a black kurta, saffron stole and a Himachali cap, he made a red cloth offerings to rice, flowers, fruits and holy rivers. Local priests welcomed him with a formal Tilak before going through a boat with CM Yogi.
