When will Ramadan 2025 start in India?

This year, Ramadan is expected to begin on 28 February or 1 March, based on the viewing of Crescent Moon. The exact date of the beginning is determined only when the new moon is seen at the end of Shaban. If the Moon appears on 28 February, the first Rosa will be seen on 1 March. However, if Crescent is seen on 1 March, the fasting will begin on 2 March. The final decision will be made on the basis of the Moon’s philosophy.

Usually, Saudi Arabia sees Ramadan Crescent Moon before India. If, for any reason, the Moon is not visible in India, the country follows to see the Moon of Saudi Arabia, and the fasting begins accordingly. The same rule also applies to seeing the Eid Moon. Overview of fasting during Ramadan is considered mandatory, as fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam.

How do Muslims inspect fasting?

Fasting (Rosa) is a fundamental practice during Ramadan. It is considered one of the five pillars of Islam and seen with deep devotion. Throughout the month, Muslims engage in reciting, praying and donating the Quran. It is believed that the Holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad during this holy month.

The first Rosa holds special significance, because it teaches patience and self-restraint. While fasting is observed throughout the month, the first fasting is particularly important because it is a symbol of commitment, discipline and faith in the divine teachings of Islam.

As the countdown of Ramadan 2025 begins, Muslims all over India and the world prepared to embrace this spiritually rich period with devotion and discipline.
