The 7th seed Norwegian, Casper Rud, Lolland Garaos lost to Nuno Borges in Portugal in the second round of 2025. The two -time Rolland Garaos finalist lost to World No. 41 in four sets.
Rood won the second set 6-4 after winning the first set 6–2. From that time, things deteriorated for him as Borges claimed the next set 6–1. Rud took a medical timeout at the end of the third set.
