Row on ‘Beef Biryani’ on the menu, Aligarh Muslim University says ‘Typo’

Aligarh:

A notice to serve ‘Beef Biryani’ for lunch on Sunday at Sir Shah Suleman Hall of Aligarh Muslim University has been triggered in a line after going viral on social media.

Notice, allegedly issued by two “authorized” persons, read, “Sunday lunch menu has been replaced, and beef Biryani will be served instead of chicken biryani as per demand.” After an uproar at the university on the notice, the AMU administration clarified that it had a “typing error” and assured that a show-cause notice was issued to those responsible.

Students received notice in Sir Shah Suleman Hall, which was widely shared on social media, after which controversy arose.

Initially, the AMU administration avoided making a statement. However, as the case increased, it removed itself, called it “unknowingly mistake”.

“The matter was brought to our attention. We found that the notice was about the food menu. However, it had a clear typing error. The notice was immediately withdrawn because there were no official signatures, doubt about its authenticity. Increasing. ” “Our Provost has issued a show-cause notice to two senior students (to issue notice) to two senior students. We are taking this issue seriously to ensure strict adherence to the university rules,” he said. He said.

Reacting to the incident, BJP leader and alumnus of AMU Nishit Sharma criticized the university case.

“The role of the administration in this is shameful. A notice was broadcast in Sir Shah Suleman Hall, stating that beef Biryani would be served instead of chicken biryani. The notice was publicly displayed, and this senior food Was the responsibility of the members of the committee. The tasks like the administration are encouraging radical elements and the student is covering misconduct, ”Shri Sharma alleged.
