The situation of Panama Camp is primitive, prisoners say – Times of India

Around 100 migrants recently deported Panama by the US, where they were locked in a hotel, was loaded into buses on Tuesday night and went to a custody on the outskirts of the forest, several migrants said. .
It is not clear that the exile group will be detained in the forest camp as part of a widespread effort of the Trump administration to expel migrants in the US without legal permission. Conditions on the site are primitive, the prisoners said. The government has denied access to journalists and support organizations.
The group consists of eight children, according to one person according to the knowledge of the situation that was not authorized to speak on records. The lawyers said that it is illegal to detain people in Panama for more than 24 hours without a court order.
Panama’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Carlos Ruiz-Hernandez confirmed that 97 people were transferred to the camp. He said, “They are not prisoners.” And access to medical and psychological care.
The transfer is the latest step for a group of approximately 300 migrants in a week long saga that arrived in the US in the hope of reaching America. The group was sent to Panama, who has agreed to help Trump in his plan to deport millions of migrants living in the US without legal permission.
The agreement is part of a major strategy by the Trump administration to export some of its most difficult migration challenges to other countries. The US cannot easily deport countries like Afghanistan, Iran and China for different reasons, but by applying acute pressure, it has managed to convince Panama to take some of them.
Last week, Ruiz-Hernandez said that Panama was complying with the Trump administration to accept the migrants.
Analysts say Panama is also under Trump’s intense pressure, who has threatened to seize the Panama Canal, believing that there is Chinese influence in the waterway, a claim that the President of Panama has denied.
