About a year ago, Sreeja Akula was flying high.
In the Olympics, a rare achievement of an Indian paddleer in the single round -16 (he and Manika Batra made it for women’s single -fourth -fourth people in Paris 2024), Sreeja was also on the verge of breakdown in the top -20 world rankings.
But soon after returning from Paris, Sreeja was detected a tension fracture, which took longer than expected to recover. Since then, she was not as dynamic on the world stage as she was a leader in the Olympics in 12 months.
But a young girl from Hyderabad has revealed in the Pink Jersey of Jaipur Patriots in the final table tennis. After remembering the fifth season due to stress fracture, Sreeja is unbeaten in season six – Zeng Gian of Goa Challengers is the only other unbeaten single player in this season – the smooth ride of Patriots in the semi -finals.
“UTT has certainly helped because I have also played different opponents and mixed doubles,” Sreeja said Hindu“I am also doing my fitness, continue my routine every day. But I also wanted to play many matches, and this league is a very good platform where I can try different things and contribute to my team.”

BT Maria Jio (Dabang Delhi) 2-1; BT Poyamanti Baisya (Chennai Lions) 3-0; Bt Berndate Szox (U Mumba) 2-1; BT Ayhika Mukherjee (Jaipur Patriots) 2-1; BT Sion Lee (Pune Jaguar) 2-1.
While Patriots-Jinn had a forgetful UTT debut in the last season without Sreeja-started on a disastrous note, Sreeja Dabang was the only bright place in his campaign-owner against Delhi TTC. In confidence with a close victory against left -handed Maria Jio, Sreeja noted for Berndate Szox, The World No. 12.
Sreeja is confident that three weeks in UTT will help her in her future efforts, starting with the US Open next month and going into three major smash events on the world circuit.
“It took me some time to recover, all this is about ups and downs, and I just have to accept it and learn from those matches and move forward. I have tried to find out what went wrong, and I am coming back to my best. I am confident that I will be in the area very soon”.
