Indian cricket star Virat Kohli gifted a signed India Jersey to Dylan, son of former England captain Kevin Pietersen. The heartbreaking gesture inspired Peterson to share a picture of his son, who proudly wearing a jersey on Instagram. The former England cricketer expressed his gratitude to Kohli and stated comicly how Jersey fully fit the Dylan.
Peterson was in India as part of the commentary panel for the England ODI against the hosts, which ended in a major 3–0 clean sweep for Rohit Sharma’s side. During the series opener in Nagpur on 6 February, Peterson and Kohli were seen getting entangled in a fun and animated conversationSharing laughter after the match. Kohli’s return to the series was not ideal, as he was rejected for just five runs in Cuttack. However, he found his rhythm in the third and final ODI in Ahmedabad, scored in half a century composed. Meanwhile, Peterson made headlines not only for his comments but also for his strong criticism of preparation of England for the series. He accused the English players of prioritizing golf in practice sessions, questioning their commitment. His comments created controversy, with England captain Jose Butler and head coach Brendon McCullum denied the claims, stressing that the team had prepared adequately.
With the Champions Trophy starting on February 19, India will provide significant pace with its series win, while England will have to address their shortcomings to mount a strong campaign.
