Facts check: The video is part of an interview Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand gave a Gujarati news channel to a Gujarati news channel, where he criticized the Kumbh Municipalities and questioned the proficiency of the Uttar Pradesh government.
In Uttarakhand, a video of Shankaracharya of Jyotishth, Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, has come out with false claims that it shows him reprimanding Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for a stampede in Kumbh.
Boom found that in the video, Shankaracharya was not shown while interacting with Gujarati news outlet Jamawat on a video call and on Yogi Adityanath.
In the viral video, Shankaracharya can be heard saying in Hindi saying, “You said that I have made all arrangements, so where is your arrangement, your Aquarius is also like the previous Kumbh (Melus). Your Aquarius is to be special Wanted, you were saying that I have made all the arrangements?
The video has been shared with the caption by the Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress, “Video call Shankaracharya Ji reprimanded Yogi Adityanath.”

Boom first discovered keywords for news articles related to video call interaction between Shankaracharya and Yogi, but no reliable reports were received.
In the video, it is a ‘Ananya Chauchcha Media’ watermark on it and a logo at the end of the clip. We then found a video on YouTube channel Splendor media,
The video was Uploaded On February 5, 2025, with a description, “Shankaracharya was seen scolding on a video call, which made Yogi Adityanath realize the mistake.” However, it did not clarify whether Shankaracharya Yogi was talking to Adityanath.

Viral video is a part of an interview
We also found that many users reported that the video is part of an interview with a news outlet. Taking a hint, we conducted a keyword discovery for the recent interviews given by Shankaracharya and found a 13 -minute long video on a Gujarati news channel called ‘Jamwat’. Shankaracharya can be seen making the same comment seen in the viral video when asked about Stamped in Kumbh meetings.

Confirm from media channel
Jamaavat journalist Devanshi Joshi interviewed and it premiered on YouTube on 3 February. The Jamawat team told Boom, “This conversation is part of our interview. We interviewed Shankaracharya on the phone. It is being shared in the wrong context.”
Journalist Devanshi Joshi, who interviewed Shankaracharya, also denied the viral claim on X. He wrote, “During my interview recording, someone present there must have recorded it and used it to spread fake news.”
