Mumbai Indians 5, Gujarat Giant 0.
The head-from record in WPL became even more embarrassing for giants on Tuesday night. After taking out GG for 120, MI won a lot of win by five wickets, with 3.5 overs.
This was the second straight half-century (57, 39B, 11×4) of the Nut Skyvar-Brant that helped the Mumbai team chase a minor target. After Harmanpreet Kaur fell cheaply, the fourth wicket stand between England all -rounder and Amelia Ker (19, 20B) ensured MI to ensure his first win of the season.
Earlier, it was MI’s superb bowling against GG’s disqualified batting. And it got the lowest total in the third edition of WPL. Playing in front of another big house crowd, veteran batting was never going. Four batsmen returned to the dugout in the first six overs. While others were being undone with a mixture of fine bowling and did not have so much batting, Harlen Deol (32, 31B, 4×4) showed some characters.
He was the only batsman to have been up to at least 15 balls. Beth Muni lasted up to just three: he stepped against the skiver-bunt and gave a comfortable catch at the backward point.
In the next over, Laura Volvardt gave Shabnim Ismail deep in S. Sanana found safe hands. The GG batsmen will continue to search for the fielders for the night and will be successful more and more often. D. Hemalatha almost did not do, but Kerr faster on the deep mid-wicket, which will come up with a luxurious catch from Hail Mathews, which would do two more skulls.
The veterans soon got the biggest shock. Ashley Gardner, his back-to-back after the fifties, was out for 10, Sajana grabbed him in a deep mid-wicket and gave the Skyver-Bunt the second big wicket of the night.
Skyver-Kara was not done yet.
