BSE subsidiary Asia Index Private Limited has launched five new indices to tap in the growth capacity of India’s next generation emerging companies. These indices are designed to capture a diverse range performance of companies from large cap to micro-cap, providing a comprehensive coverage of India’s dynamic equity market.

Five new indices and their details:
1. BSE 1000 – Index measures 1000 performance of the largest and most fluid Indian companies within the index BSE Allcap. It will be reorganized on a semi-annual basis in June and December. The top three sectoral weightage are: financial services (27.89%), consumer discretionary (15.93%) and IT (10.17%).
2. BSE Next 500 – The index measures the performance of 500 companies within the BSE 1000 which is not part of the BSE 500. The top three sector weightage are: consumers discretionary (26.34%), industrial (22.18%) and commodities (10.97%).
3. BSE 250 MicroP – The index BSE measures a performance of 250 out of the largest and most liquid companies within the BSE Next 500. The top three sector weightage are: consumer discretionary (28.12%), industrial (21.68%) and items (13.12%).
4. BSE Next 250 MicroP – The index BSE measures the performance of 250 companies within the BSE Next 500 which is not part of the BSE 250 microcaps. The top three sector weightage are: consumer discretionary (25.63%), industrial (22.38%) and commodities (11.64%).
5. BSE 1000 multicap similar size weighted (25%) – The index includes BSE 100 largacap TMC, BSE 150 Midcap, BSE 250 Smallcap and the next 500 of BSE.
