New Delhi: Tamil Nadu Government Officially, the late -running late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has captured the property seized from Jayalalithaa. Case of unrelated assetsThese included documents related to 27 kg and 558 grams of gold jewelery, 1,116 kg of silver, and 1,526 acres of land, earlier stored in Karnataka Vidhan Saudh Treasury. The transfer took place on Friday following a Bengaluru court order to hand over precious goods to Karnataka.
The process was overseen by the court and government officials, who dated and photographed items, which revealed a luxurious golden crown, a broad jewelery collection and a sword with complex engraving. Petitioner Narasimha Murthy told PTI that only jewelery and documents were handed over, while 27 other items lived with Jayalalithaa’s secretary since 1996.
On Friday, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition by Jayalalithaa’s legal successor, seeking the withdrawal of the seized property. A bench of Justice Biwi Nagarthana and Satish Chandra Sharma ruled while the proceedings were abolished after his death, it did not mean that she was acquitted. 2017 decisions in the state of Karnataka state.
The CBI court had earlier ordered the transfer of all the seized assets to the Tamil Nadu government. The Karnataka High Court dismissed a petition by Jayalalithaa’s niece and nephew, J Deep and J Deepak, which claimed the properties as her legal heirs. The court confiscated and said, considering the punishment of his co-accused as valid.
The properties seized include Ved Nilayam, his Chennai Niwas, Bhoomi Parcel, Estates, Bank deposits and precious items between July 1991 and April 1996.
