CBI officials, who bothered the rating scam for a sensational bribe, by incorporating the Guntur-based Konaru Lakshya Education Foundation (KLEF) and officials. National assessment and recognition council (NAAC)The accused are collecting evidence on the purchase of gold, laptops and other electronic gadgets presented as bribes to the team members.
Clefe is considered a university located in Vadeshwaram in Guntur district, which was recognized by NAAC with a ++ grade. The university management allegedly offered cash, gold and electronic devices to re-recognized by NAAC for a period of 2024–2029.
The Inspection Committee of the National Assessment and Recognition Council (NAAC) allegedly collided with Clefe Management to give ++ grade to the university for the next five years.
The seven -member inspection committee in which its chairman Samarendra Nath Saha, Member Coordinator Rajiv Sijariya, and committee member D. Gopal, Rajesh Singh Power, Manas Kumar Mishra, Gayatri Devraj and Bulu Maharana accepted Brib to give a favorable report to Clefe.
Officials said that former Deputy Advisor, L. Manjunatha Rao and Director of IQAC-NAAC M. Hanumanthepa meditated the deal, and played an important role in listing the known members on the inspection panel, Officials said.
CBI officials said that Cleaf Vice Chancellor GP Sird Verma and others who offered bribes, allegedly asked the NAAC team to give 3.65 points and more time to give more time to the university so that the university could maintain its A + + + + + grade, CBI officials said.
CBI officials investigating the sensational case arrested ten accused, including NAAC Inspection Committee and officials and university staff and produced them in court on 1 February, which sent them to judicial custody.
Sources said that the accused, who stayed at a hotel in Vijayawada, demanded cash, gold jewelry, laptop and a mobile phone in New Delhi and Vijayawada.
Investigating officers are trying to find out where the Cleafe management purchased gold and electronic gadgets, and said they are investigating the matter from all angles.
