Bizarre maternity advertisement boast on the market cap of Rs 500 crore

A bizarre marital advertisement of a Mumbai -based business family has taken social media from the storm in search of a groom for his daughter. Instead of sharing personal information like a woman’s height, education and occupation, the newspaper advertisement referred to the “500+ market cap” of the family.

Shared on Reddit, read the advertisement, “The Mumbai-based business family with 500 crores+ market cap is looking for a suitable Marwari/Gujarati boy for the wedding of their daughter (28 years).”

Usually used to mention the overall value of shares of a company, the phrase “Market Cap” surprised many and provoked a string of online comic reactions.

One person said, “Lol I never trusted these advertisements. 500+ CR net-department families usually have tightly elite circles. They do not need to advertise in this way.”

Last year, a matrimonial advertisement by A 26 year old “investor” From Meerut, Uttar Pradesh went viral for some unique claims. He claimed that he earned Rs 29 lakh per year per year, increasing his income by 54% every year “growing mixed”.

The advertisement exposed the man’s physical appearance and caste, but quickly took an unexpected turn, focusing on his financial credit. The person was asked to be active in the Indian stock market and claimed a self-conscious and self-determined method to increase his income at an extraordinary rate.

It did not stop there. To assure the possible matches of his profession’s safety and stability, he offered to share a powerpoint presentation, giving details of his approach to “safe investment” and how it makes them “financially independent”.

The advertisement also claimed that a 16-slide presentation would be sent to anyone through WhatsApp to be interested in learning how his unique method made him financially independent.
