A notice was issued by the police on Thursday to BRS MLC Pochampli Srinivas Reddy in connection with a case after allegedly busting a cockfite held at his farmhouse in Moinabad.
Police said that a notice under the relevant sections of BNSS was used to organize the Cockfite to “allow” its farmhouse in Tholkatta.
Police said the notice was issued to Reddy demanding clarification, where the cockfite was done, it is for him.
In the notice, the police sought an explanation from Reddy and directed him to produce any relevant documents or other related evidence within four days from receiving the notice for the convenience of an effective investigation. “Otherwise, it will be assumed that you have no evidence on the hand, and the matter will be finalized based on the properties of the investigation,” the notice states.
On 11 February, a farmhouse was raided in Tholkatta and 64 people involved in an organized cockfite with alleged betting.
Police seized 46 cockfite knives, betting coins and cards, 55 cars, 64 smartphones, 84 cocks, and Rs 30.59 lakh cash.
A case under the Gaming Act was registered against him at Moinabad police station against the Animal Act for prevention of cruelty, and was released after questioning.
