Two-time champion and four-time runner-up SSP Chawresia has been given a special invitation by the title sponsor for the $ 2.25 million Hero Indian Open Golf Championship to be played at DLF Golf and Country Club from Thursday.
He will be one of the three previous champions returning to the tournament, in addition to Japan’s pest Nakajima and Germany’s Marcel Seam.
Chawresia won the championship back in 2016 and 2017. He ended the runner-up in 1999, 2006, 2013 and 2015.
There will be two champions from the previous fortnight in the 138-fierce ground, Richard Mansel, Porsche Singapore Classic Champion and Kolkata Challenge champion Joshua Berry.
Calum Hill, John Parry, Johannes Veeman and Rigs Johnson will be other champions of the current season, lending intensity to the competition.
To add to the lively environment, the organizers have thrown gates openly for golf enthusiasts.
