The U19 Women’s T20 World Cup will mostly be remembered for the excellent performance of G. Trisha and spin trio of Vaishnavi Sharma, Parunika Sisodia and Ayushi Shukla. But a player who can feel a difficult to feel by Mithila Vinod. It was not a matter of name in the mega event on Malaysian soil, but is more than Mithila than meeting with eyes.
Only he played in the match, Mithila scored 16 runs from 10 balls against Sri Lanka in Kuala Lumpur. On a pitch helping the bowlers, Mithila played on a 160 strike-rate. She did not get a chance to bat in other sports after India’s top three, including Trisha, G. Kamalini and Sanika Chalke, a part of the work. Most of the seven matches in the competition.
In Malaysia last year in the U19 Women’s Asia Cup, Mithila scored only 34 runs, but still got only two opportunities to bat. But that she was the best strike-by of 141.66, gave a glimpse of her ability. With a knock of 17* and 17 in the semi -finals and finals respectively, the Karnataka batsman did not let his team down from any stretch of Kalpana.
Mithila is also more than work with a ball in hand, and has all the ability to mold itself to a quality batting all-rounder, which is currently a shortage in the Indian team. After remembering the South African version of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, Mithila becomes a world champion in Malaysia,
India Today recently caught for a chat with Mithila, where he talked about his dreams of playing for the national team in the future. He also talked about his praise for Hardik Pandya and veteran Alice Perry, who would play for RCB in the upcoming WPL version.
Here are some excerpts from Mithila Vinod’s interview
After being selected for the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup, do you believe that someday you must be embrace the World Cup Trophy?
Oh yes, of course, because the moment I did not get up, this is a dream for me to paint myself in this version of the trophy in this version of the World Cup.
How has been welcomed so far after reaching India, and how are the ceremonies?
I mean, till now, it is just very important items, people coming home, meet me, and there are many interviews. So the ceremony, such as, is not much yet, expected more later.
When did you start the dream of playing for India and told us how you chose cricket as a profession?
I started playing at the age of 11. I started playing because of my father. He used to play for his office and corporate matches, so looking at him, I also raised interest in the game. Since then, I started enjoying the game more and took a lot of women cricketers as a profession and how much it is developing. Perhaps this is when I realized that this is something I want to do as a career. So, perhaps when I started playing for the state team at first, when I started taking it really seriously and kept it as a dream to play for a profession and country.
You are mostly working under the order in number 5, 6 and 7. Is there a desire to bat or you are currently happy with the role you have?
I am a person who is very flexible with wherever I do, so I will be happy to fit whatever role I need to be. I felt that the role in this squad is that my team is required for me, and I think I have really played this role well, batting at number 6. But if ever needed, I have always batted the order. So I have no preference, such as where I would like to bat, but wherever I need.
Is there a special training or player that you see for inspiration especially about power hitting?
I really find like my sports style like Hardik Pandya. Looking at him, he is also the type of middle-order bat that goes there and is a difficult hitter of the ball at a high strike rate. I find his game really pleasant, and I am someone who enjoys playing at that speed. I can cover the run a lot, and I have always trained for it. I have trained a lot, especially in T20, because I know the balls I am getting limited. There is training for some balls that I have done a lot.

Who is your idol since childhood?
I have really seen a lot to elice Perry. Ever since I started playing, it is someone whom you can trust for both ball and bat. He is someone I want to like.
Do you believe that you can be a batting all -rounder that the Indian team may be watching in the future?
Yes, of course. This is a dream, after all. I am also training in a way, whatever role I have been given to me to fit in the Indian team. Since starting preparations for the World Cup, whatever role I have been clarified here have been forever, and I think it is a role that will also fit the Indian team.
If a chance is given, which WPL team would you like to represent and why?
To be honest, it would be great for any WPL team to play, but if I want to choose, I would like to play for RCB. I have always loved RCB, when I started watching IPL myself, and I also participated in the trial last year. I really like the players, employees and how to do their work. It would be great for them to play.
Tell us about the bonds shared with Nikki Prasad, played together for Karnataka
Nikki and I have been playing together very long. Actually, since I started, she has been there, and she is my best friend. Playing with him is really pleasant for me, and the bond we share is very good – it is more than a friend; This is now a family spirit. Since we have been playing together for so long, we know each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and we have learned for years. Play together has actually set the tone for it.
